FAQ

When should I not get a massage?
You should not get a massage if you are sick, have contagious skin conditions, or have skin conditions that can be exacerbated by massage. You should not get a massage if you are under the influence of a controlled substance, alcohol, or medications that are contraindicated for massage. Please consult your physician if you are unsure if your current condition or medications are contraindicated for massage.

What does Hot Stone Massage entail?
Authentic Hot Stone Massage replaces the hands with hot stones for the entirety of the massage. Our Basalt stones are heated by being submerged in hot water.

What is Hydrotherapy in massage?
Hydrotherapy is the use of water in its different forms in order to maximize the results of massage. We use heated hydrocollator packs to warm the muscles for a deeper effect and a cryo ball to balance the heat. By performing a contrast hydro treatment we essentially use vasodilation and vasoconstriction of the blood vessels to bring homeostasis.

Contraindications for hydrotherapy are: contagious diseases, open wounds, active infections, pregnancy, severe cardiovascular conditions, chronic heart disease, coronary artery disease, bleeding disorders, cancer, and inflammatory skin conditions like eczema.
What is the difference between static and dynamic cupping?
Static cupping is stationary, which means that the cups are applied and not moved. Unlike traditional cupping, dynamic cupping involves the movement of a suction cup on the body. Dynamic cupping may also involve the combination of cups in place and cups in movement in tandem. The cups also vary with the different styles. Static cupping mostly uses horn/suction cups while dynamic cupping uses a combination of cups including silicone cups.

Contraindications for cupping are: pregnancy, organ failure, pacemaker, bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia, cancer, open wounds, bone fractures, and areas of deep vein thrombosis.
